Ontario is introducing a limited-time HST rebate to help make new homes more affordable. If you purchase a new home between April 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027, you may be eligible to receive significant savings on the HST.
For homes priced up to $1 million, the rebate can effectively eliminate the full 13% HST, saving you up to $130,000. Homes priced between $1 million and $1.5 million may still qualify for the maximum rebate, with reduced savings available up to approximately $1.85 million.
To qualify, the home must be your primary residence or a long-term rental, and construction must begin within the required timelines.
